PLAYING WITH PHONICS IN THE PLAYGROUND

As you already know, this year we have begun to learn and play with phonics. As we are still so young, we have a number of huge advantages compared to older learners, and learning phonics really helps us to exploit this. With the MAGIC DRAGON PHONICS PROJECT and teacher Severine we are learning not only to improve our pronunciation, but also how to identify the sounds within different words. One of the ways in which we do this is through games, and today we decided to play outisde.

CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN COMES TO AN END

On thursday we celebrated the end of the children helping children campaign to gather food to donate to other hungry and needy children. We have been astounded by the fantastic amount of things that have been donated and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for being so very generous. We gathered a huge amount of food and we are so proud of all the children for joining in and learning how to care for others.

The year group who donated the most food was YEAR 1, so today we took to the patio to celebrate their success and to hand out certificates to all the children.

Here we can see that year 1 donated the most

THE ODD ONE OUT...

The children in year 3 with have been playing a new game with teacher Regla. They have to read a series of words in English, decide which one is the odd one out, and then explain to the teacher why. We think you´ll be amazed by how many words the children can already identify in English.
